The Face – A Map of a Person

The face consists of a group of facial expression and chewing muscles that are constantly in motion, determining the formation of wrinkles and folds that reflect our emotions. Physical emotional reactions occur in the soft tissues of the face. Joy and sadness, laughter and tears, anger and kindness - all of these emotions involve an enormous number of muscle movements.

Every time a specific facial muscle contracts under the influence of an emotion, remaining in constant tension, it imprints early wrinkles. These marks are difficult to erase over time and become more pronounced with age. Expression lines can appear at an early age, but as time passes, they are joined by age-related wrinkles, directly linked to collagen and elastin loss.

Most of the time, we are unaware of our true facial expressions. Only those around us see them, which is why it is important to develop "facial expression awareness" from a young age. Our face is a lifelong roadmap. A simple example: over time, spouses often begin to resemble each other. This is a result of a shared emotional environment in the family, which gradually imprints itself on their faces like a mirror image.

Our Neck – Our Passport

Due to its anatomical structure, the neck develops wrinkles much faster. The frequent use of phones and computers, poor posture, and a sedentary lifestyle further accelerate this process. Additionally, our emotional state directly affects the appearance of our neck.

Sometimes, we find it difficult to straighten up and extend our neck due to past emotional burdens. As a result, neck muscles shorten, blood circulation and microcirculation are disrupted, Venus rings (horizontal neck lines) become more pronounced, skin tone deteriorates, and wrinkles form.

By improving posture, working on emotional well-being, and practising facial and neck self-massage, you can achieve excellent cosmetic and therapeutic results.

Important to Remember
Our skin type is inherited genetically. However, our skin condition can change under the influence of external and internal factors such as weather, ecology, stress levels, diet, hormonal changes, and more.
It was once believed that using the same cream for a long time is ineffective because the skin becomes accustomed to it. However, this is a misconception. When the condition of our skin changes due to the factors mentioned above, we should simply adjust our daily routine, adding or removing products every 2–3 weeks as needed.Healthy skin is hydrated skin.

A balanced diet and adequate daily water intake are essential. Do not neglect sun protection, even in colder months. Avoid excessive makeup use and opt for hypoallergenic decorative cosmetics.

For maximum effectiveness in daily skincare, consult a cosmetologist for a professional skincare regimen tailored to your needs.
How to Perform Self-Massage?
Self-massage is an essential part of a daily beauty routine. Before starting, it is important to determine your ageing type and the goal of self-massage, whether it is relaxation, correction of problem areas, reduction of swelling, or lifting.

Without knowing your ageing type and massage lines, there is a risk of worsening the condition of the face, overstretching ligaments, and increasing skin laxity. For deformation-type ageing, where there is fluid retention, the focus should be on lymphatic drainage, enhancing lymphatic flow to relieve tissue congestion. For fine-wrinkle ageing, the emphasis should be on toning, improving blood circulation and microcirculation in tissues.
Self-Massage Guidelines
Self-massage is most effective when performed at the same time each day, helping to establish a conditioned reflex to the treatment. A full 30-minute massage should be done 1-2 times a week, while smaller self-massage techniques tailored to your skin type should be performed daily. A great time to incorporate self-massage is during evening cleansing routines.

There are different massage techniques. Lymphatic drainage and relaxation massage is performed lying down, while corrective and lifting massage is done standing. It is crucial not to pull or stretch the skin, not to apply excessive pressure, and to follow massage lines while staying within designated massage zones.
Beauty Sleep
The condition of our skin and the appearance of wrinkles are influenced by both the quantity and quality of sleep, as well as the comfort of the mattress, pillow, and bedding. Before purchasing a mattress or pillow, it is advisable to consult an orthopaedist, who can recommend the best products based on your individual needs.

Bedding should be chosen from natural materials. It is ideal to go to bed before 11 PM and wake up no later than 7 AM to maintain healthy biorhythms in a stress-free state. Sleeping in a cool room in any season further enhances rest. Eight hours of healthy sleep ensures a radiant complexion and brightness in the eyes.

Regarding Sleeping PositionIt is often said that the side on which a person sleeps affects how young they look, but this is likely an individual factor. However, sleeping on the stomach is not recommended, as it can restrict breathing.

Relaxing Facial Muscles During SleepIt is essential to relax the facial muscles while sleeping. If you experience hypertonicity of the chewing muscles and feel tension in the morning, I recommend wearing a myorelaxing mouth guard on the lower jaw at night, which can be custom-made by your orthodontist. Using such a device helps to release tension in the chewing muscles, relax the temporomandibular joint ligaments, improve the bite, protect teeth from wear, and enhance facial aesthetics. Over time, you may notice that creases at the corners of the mouth smooth out, as the lower jaw assumes a more natural position.

Never go to bed with makeup on. The most effective time for skincare for the face and body is between 8–9 PM, as this period yields the best results.
Treat yourself:Cleanse your face, perform a dry body brushing routine, do a gentle self-massage, apply a face mask, place a warm compress on your eyes, and enjoy a relaxing bath with essential oils. Give yourself a moment of joy, and let your skin be healthy, beautiful, and youthful.
